    TITLE: Supervisor – Student Information Systems


    REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Innovation and Learning

    POSITION SUMMARY: The Supervisor of Student Information Systems will manage the retention of student records, student management systems, and facilitate training of policies, processes and procedures for student attendance and maintenance of student files and records.


    1. Answer questions relating to policy, processes, and procedures involved with determining, collecting, or recording student data and information.

    2. Supervise, direct, and evaluate the work of staff in the pupil personnel department.

    3. Audit and review work of others for accuracy and compliance with policy, processes and procedures.

    4. Receive special requests for data or information that involves analysis, development of a plan and timetable for obtaining necessary resources, and recommending assignments for the completion of the project.

    5. Coordinate the training of Student Attendance Clerks on policies, processes, and procedures for student attendance and maintenance of student files.

    6. Coordinate alternative placements for Non-Special Education students.

    7. Generate reports using the district's student management information system.

    8. Facilitate communication between schools, other districts, and agencies.

    9. Establish and maintain procedures and processes related to student information.

    10. Manage the District's permanent student records.

    11. Remain current and up to date in issues pertaining to the rules, regulations and laws which apply to student attendance.

    12. Communicate with Internal Audit in response to Internal Audit reports and initiate corrective action.

    13. Work in conjunction with school principals to monitor attendance clerk work performance including the administration of evaluations and improvement plans.

    EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required

    EXPERIENCE: Five years related experience required.

    • Demonstrated ability at utilizing independent judgment in setting priorities or making decisions in the absence of specific direction is essential.

    • Ability to use a computer for work processing, spreadsheets (Excel), data entry, and database management.

    • Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy, and attention to detail.

    • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.

    WORKING CONDITIONS: The work environment is the normal office setting.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve-month year, District Office Administrator Salary Schedule, Employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

    EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy.
