    CLASSIFICATION: District Office Administrator – Supervisor

    REPORTS TO: Director of Maintenance and Facilities

    SUMMARY:
    The custodian supervisor will ensure that custodial services are efficient and effective and ensure a safe, clean working and learning environment.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Communicate with unit managers and custodians on maintaining clean and safe school and district facilities.
    2. Knowledge of basic maintenance and repairs.
    3. Assist in repairing windows and/or securing the buildings after a window is broken.
    4. Inspect for hazardous conditions including mold, and pigeon feces.
    5. Assist vendor in the removal of asbestos in accordance with HAZMAT standards.
    6. Inspect school and district facilities for safety, cleanliness, and repairs.
    7. Maintain satisfactory working relationships and communication with school officials, the public, and employees.
    8. Attend in-service training and meetings.
      • Uphold custodial cleaning standards.
      • Familiarity in cleaning supplies, chemicals, and ratios.
      • Oversee playground inspections.
      • Report repair issues promptly to Maintenance Department.
      • Oversee cleaning supplies and equipment inventory at all campuses and district sites.
      • Ensure that unit managers and schools are maintaining fire inspection checklists.
      • Provide and follow through with summer cleaning schedules.
      • Assist with evaluations of work performance of all custodians.
    9. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
    EDUCATION:
    High school diploma or equivalent.

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

    EXPERIENCE:
    Three (3) years previous experience in custodial maintenance.

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
    • Skilled in maintenance, custodial, safety and site inspections.
    • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills and high level of oral and written communication skills to provide direction and effectively interact with staff and administrators.
    • Ability to bend, climb, kneel, lift, and carry 60 pounds, and push and pull 50 pounds.
    • Ability to work with equipment, materials, and processes that maintain the safety of the work environment.
    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    The working environment includes exposure to dust, dirt, seasonal high temperatures, fumes and odors from cleaning chemicals, and noise and vibration from machinery.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
    Twelve-month year, District Office Administration Salary Schedule, employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.
