    TITLE: Director of Facilities and Community School

    CLASSIFICATION: District Office Administrator

    REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Innovation & Learning

    SUMMARY: The Director of Facilities will assume primary managerial responsibilities for the Community School, oversee the physical operation of the school district as well as develop and monitor the District's & School's safety protocols. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating, managing and supervising improvement and maintenance projects for District facilities and grounds.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. To oversee the physical operation of the entire district and its programs

    2. Oversee and support the operation of the district’s community school.

    3. Create and monitor District and School safety protocols

    4. Define job performance expectations of subordinate staff, evaluate job performance and develop training options and improvement plans to ensure the best operation of each department

    5. To create and oversee the careful maintenance and cleaning programs that keep the school’s appearance in exemplary condition

    6. Assign work to personnel and oversee completion

    7. To create and oversee on-going

    8. Maintain adequate parts inventory and order items as necessary

    9. To develop, maintain and report all required environmental, health, safety, and maintenance standards as required by law and to work with the administration, to ensure compliance with all regional, state and federal regulations and laws as they impact the school

    10. Develop and maintain written procedures for reporting, monitoring, and security of all district buildings

    11. Develop and implement procedures for facility use requests

    12. Develop short and long term capital project plans and and ensure their timely completion

    13. Meet with contractors and vendors regarding bids and oversee contracted work to ensure compliance with contractual agreements and budgetary restrictions

    14. Oversee adherence to Board Approved policies and procedures

    15. Handle customer inquiries and complaints

    16. Manage internal staff relations

    17. Maintain a safe and secure working environment

    18. Perform other duties as assigned

    19. Coordinate with the School Facilities Board on building modifications and the implementation of new building projects

    20. Coordinate system repairs and monitor system.

    21. Perform other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Business, or related field
    3 years of supervisory and managerial experience

    LICENSES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

    EXPERIENCE:

    SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:

    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work

    • Attention to detail and skills

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Strong organizational and planning skills

    • Proficient in MS Office

    • Knowledge of business and management principles

    • Demonstrated ability to use independent judgment to set priorities and make decisions.

    • Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information.

    • Bilingual preferred

    WORKING CONDITIONS:

    The working environment is the normal office setting.

    TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:Twelve-month year, District Administrative Salary Schedule employee benefits in accordance with Board policies.

    EVALUATION: Performance to be evaluated in accordance with Board policy on evaluation of classified staff.
